Crafting digital products with purpose

Full-stack software engineer with 2 years shipping production software - enterprise SaaS at Olee.ai, and client work before that. I lead frontend for Oleon, a multi-tenant messaging and CRM platform handling 30,000+ messages a day, build the Node.js and Express services behind it, and own the CI/CD pipelines that ship it. I work test-first under strict TypeScript, and set the AI-assisted development conventions my team codes to.

Links Sri Lankan financial news to listed companies and predicts 7-day return direction: a Node.js and Express service runs a seven-stage LLM agent pipeline feeding a Python LightGBM and logistic-regression model, served as a container.

Highlights

Evaluated on 8,422 news samples across 21 companies at ROC AUC 0.568, comparable to a published FinBERT benchmark (0.564)
The most confident half of predictions reached AUC 0.584 and 58.4% accuracy
Built the RAG retrieval layer: company research profiles chunked, embedded and stored in a vector database, with automatic company attribution above a 0.7 similarity score
Designed the evaluation to be honest about time: point-in-time news timestamps that prevent look-ahead bias, URL-normalized deduplication, and page-at-a-time scraping with fallback selectors
